Hello, I’m Herman Kaldenberg. A little bit about me: I’ve lived in the River Valley for most of my life. I’m 93. I’ve seen a lot – from the midwest, to the wheat fields of Idaho, to the shores of Leyte Gulf (Philippines) and Japan in World War II, back through the Great Depression,. Calvin Coolidge was President when I was born – imagine that! I was married to a ‘local girl’ from Wilson Creek, LaVina Schweppe, for 63 years before we lost her to her 6th bout with cancer. I have 4 children and lots of grand and great-grand children.

I like engaging in conversation.  We don’t have to agree, people disagree all of the time, but I firmly believe that respectful discourse is an important way to learn – about ourselves and about the world around us. “I have learned the most from people who disagree with me.” I invite you to engage in ‘respectful discourse’. Inappropriate discourse and inappropriate language will not be tolerated. I monitor responses. If you don’t see your comments, you will know why. If you say something I like, I may ask to use it. Whether you want to be credited is your choice.
